This interactive, cosmic wedding was held where the jungle meets the sea, in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. I’ve never experienced anything like Roxie + Michael’s wedding. It was one of my first times photographing in Mexico. We loved exploring Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico for its light, texture, colors and history. As always, I kept the process simple and organic, and we just spent a bit of time wandering around letting the magic happen. Cheers to these two and their magnetic, playful energy, which was a real joy to witness and to photograph.
The ceremony was interactive, musical and full of so much love. Every guest had an instrument. Maracas for most, drums, and Charlie the Shaman with his amazing conch shell that he blew after each part of the ceremony.
An astoundingly beautiful storm rolled in during the ceremony. The guests rushed under the palapas and we snuck in some magical portraits with no time to spare.
The bride & groom wanted the magic and beauty of Tulum to set the stage for their cosmic ceremony in a truly organic way. The natural elements and colors of the jungle melt into the dazzling blues of the Caribbean.
