Jaren and Sera stumbled across the perfect venue for their wedding, Blanco Colima, during a pre-pandemic trip to Mexico City for New Year’s in 2020. They were walking through the beautiful neighborhoods of Roma Norte and La Condesa with friends when they found the venue. They went in for a drink and Sera instantly knew it would make for a perfect wedding venue. Blanco Colima is an incredible historical Porfirian-era mansion, updated to a beautiful modern space with an artistic feel, which was perfect for Jaren and Sera’s non-traditional wedding vibe.

The couple decided to incorporate some traditional Mexican elements into their wedding, such as custom CDMX-inspired fabric and embroidery on Jaren’s suit jacket.
Jaren and Sera met while working at a PR agency in 2013. They were on the same team but based in different cities. Jaren was in Austin, Texas, and Sera was in San Francisco, California. After years of long-distance, they finally came clean to their coworkers that they were dating. Jaren moved to San Francisco to be with Sera, and the couple has been inseparable ever since.
Their wedding in Mexico City was a celebration of their love and their journey together. It was a beautiful mix of traditional Mexican elements and modern, artistic touches, all set against the stunning backdrop of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Jaren and Sera’s love story is a testament to the fact that distance cannot stop true love, and that the most unexpected journeys can lead to the most beautiful destinations.
