Elegant Wedding in Mexico City at Seminario 12

A meaningful celebration of love with many circles of friends in the heart of Mexico City.

Alyx and Anthony got engaged in Mexico City in late 2019, and held an intimate celebration in 2020. Post-pandemic, they were ready to celebrate in a grand way with all of their friends, so they planned a very meaningful celebration at the stunning venue Seminario 12 in the heart of Mexico City, a place that they have come to love and holds a special place in their love story.

Kind Words From Alyx + Anthony

“We have watched it and rewatched it now so many times and love the video so so much. It’s incredibly authentic. I feel like it captures the joy of the day, and us as a couple, and the beauty of Mexico City. It’s creative and gorgeous!”

An Intimate Wedding Ceremony in Mexico City

Alyx + Anthony approached their wedding celebration in a unique way. Because they had already been married, they led their own ceremony without an officiant. Instead, they celebrated their “past, present, and future,” first, by reading from cards they had exchanged over the years to honor the beginning of their relationship. Then they chose to reread the vows they wrote for each other in their original ceremony to celebrate the present of their married life, and finally, they toasted with all the guests to the future of their partnership, and in appreciation of everyone there to support and celebrate them.

The Perfect Wedding Venue in Mexico City for Alyx + Anthony

Seminario 12 is located in the historical center of downtown Mexico City. It’s a gorgeous, historical home built in 1640(!!!) with an open-air courtyard and a roof terrace overlooking the Presidential Palace, and the famous Zocalo. Alyx + Anthony chose the venue for its beautiful interior and historical and cultural significance. There’s never a dull moment in El Centro so we fully embraced the chaos and made playful, energetic photos that are authentic to their love, surrounded by the character-filled streets of Mexico.

Intentional Gathering with Friends and Family

Alyx and Anthony found inspiration in the book The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker. Above all, their priority for their wedding celebration was to bring together the people who have supported and influenced them the most as individuals and as a couple and to express their gratitude for them.

Creating an inviting atmosphere to celebrate their love, Alyx and Anthony greeted each of their guests as they entered the ceremony space. During the reception, they integrated themselves with their guests – instead of sitting next to each other, they sat across the table from each other. These and other subtle gestures were intimate and intentional throughout their entire day.

Storytelling Photography with Film

While photographing, I encourage affection through playfulness & positivity. Through a combination of editorial portraiture and candid photojournalism, I’ll direct you when necessary and offer my guidance, but I always want it to feel like you. I love offering film as an addition to any session to capture the emotion of the celebration in a nostalgic way. These instant film photos are so special and have such a distinctive, vintage look.
