This emotion-filled, tropical Puerto Vallarta wedding couldn’t have been more perfect to celebrate Casey and David’s love for each other! As trite as it sounds, it truly was love at first sight for Casey and David. What they thought was a little crush at the gym in San Luis Obispo, California that might just fizzle away turned out to be a life-changing encounter.
Fate brought Casey and David to work together at the same company a couple of weeks after first meeting in that random gym (what are the chances!). That little crush in the gym led David to ask Casey if she wanted to join him at the Lighting in a Bottle music festival for their first date. Then, after 6 years of inseparable love, Casey and David began planning their Puerto Vallarta destination wedding.

Casey and David visited Villa La Estancia with Casey’s family the year before they knew they would be getting married in this tropical resort. The privacy and size of Villa La Estancia were perfect for their destination beach wedding.
Casey’s family is from Colorado and David’s family is from California. Because of the distance, their families were unable to spend a lot of time together prior to the wedding. With the centralized pool within the resort, they knew it would be a great place for people to easily gather together.
A Homage to Casey’s Grandmother
Casey’s ring is from her grandmother’s first marriage to her late husband. Her grandmother passed away shortly before David and Casey got engaged. Casey will now wear this ring as a tribute to her grandmother’s beautiful legacy.
A Playful Vibe for the Ultimate Puerto Vallarta Wedding Beach Party
It has always been a dream of Casey and David to throw a party on the beach for their wedding. They envisioned a boho, tropical paradise for their friends and family to simply have a good time. An intimate space to dance around the beach celebrating their love for each other. And let me tell you, they did JUST that. This couple was sincerely a delight to celebrate. Casey is THE MOST loving person that I have ever met. To her, literally every guest at the wedding was the most important person there and she made sure they all knew it!
One of my three pillars in how I approach a wedding is making sure that I include the guests in the entire photo story as much as I do the location and the couple. In this case, it was clear to me that this was even more special for Casey and David to include. They are SO close to each and every one of their guests, so I made an extra effort to intentionally document them, from the candid moments and quick little portraits to the intimate interactions that they had with the couple.
