It was a brisk but golden autumn day at Rockwood Hall Park in Westchester, NY. Dana and Anthony intentionally chose this location for their casual engagement shoot because it was the spot where they started their first date together. I always encourage this! Choosing a space where you feel a connection to the place is a great way to make the photos feel extra special. And yes, always bring your dog!

Thanks to their close relationship with the owners, Soul Brewery graciously opened their doors for us on a day they were closed, giving us the chance to play around in the space freely. This is ideal! Shooting in an empty space was a blast; it meant we didn’t have to worry about disrupting other guests and had the freedom to move around however we pleased. Soul Brewery, in particular, held a important place in their hearts as it was not just a location for their first date but also the venue for their engagement party. The special significance added an extra layer of warmth and meaning to the photos.
